Thinking about upgrading your hot tub heating? Before getting started with SUPA Heater, there are three things to prepare: propane, a water connection, and an electrical outlet.
Here's what you need to know.
1. Propane: Your Main Heat Source
SUPA Heater uses propane to heat your hot tub water, rather than relying on electricity as its primary heat source.
Here's what you'll need:
-
A propane tank: A minimum 40 lb tank is recommended. A 30 lb tank can also be used, but the cost per heat-up may be higher.
-
The supplied regulator: Always use the regulator included with your SUPA Heater.
-
A secure gas connection: Follow the assembly instructions and check all gas connections for leaks before operation.
Remember: The propane tank is sold separately.
2. Water: Connect Your Hot Tub
SUPA Heater works with a water circulation setup to heat your hot tub water.
Depending on your setup, you can either circulate the water already in your tub through the heater or use the appropriate hot-water filling method.
Your SUPA Heater package includes:
-
Hot and cold hoses, each 10 ft long
-
A water circulation pump
-
The required gas connection kit and other supplied accessories
Make sure your hoses and pump are connected correctly and that water can flow as instructed before operating the heater.

3. Power: What Needs to Be Plugged In?
Although propane provides the heat, SUPA Heater also uses electricity for its controls and circulation pump.
The controls draw approximately 50 watts, while the pump draws approximately 400 watts — around 450 watts combined.
You'll therefore need a suitable electrical supply for the unit. Check the product specifications and instruction manual for the exact electrical requirements and safe outdoor connection instructions.
4. Check Before You Buy
Before ordering SUPA Heater, make sure you have:
A suitable propane tank and the supplied regulator
An appropriate water connection and setup
A suitable electrical outlet for the unit
Enough outdoor space to position and operate the heater safely
Important: SUPA Heater cannot be used above elevations of 2,000 feet. Always follow the manufacturer's installation and safety instructions.
