How to add more air to a Relxtime hot tub full of water

If your RELXTIME inflatable hot tub is already filled with water and needs more air, you can inflate it without draining the water first.

Follow the steps below to add air safely and avoid over-inflating the spa.

Before You Start

If the spa is filled with water, press the “BUBBLE” button once and wait 4–5 minutes before adding air.

Make sure the spa is not over-inflated. The upper edge should still be able to be pressed in by the palm of your hand by approximately 1.57–1.97 inches (4–5 cm).

Over-inflating the spa can cause the PVC shell to deform or stretch, especially when the air inside expands in direct sunlight.

How to Add Air

1. Connect the Inflation Hose

Open the air outlet located above the filter-heating element of the spa.

Screw the inflation hose onto the air outlet securely.

2. Connect the Hose to the Spa

Open the air valve (black screw cap) on the spa shell.

Attach the other end of the inflation hose to the air inlet valve.

3. Inflate the Spa

Press the “BUBBLE” button on the control panel.

The bubble system will begin inflating the spa.

Keep the spa inflated only until the upper edge can still be pressed in approximately 4–5 cm (1.57–1.97 inches) with the palm of your hand.

Once the spa has reached the appropriate pressure, press the “BUBBLE” button again to stop the inflation.

Day and Night Temperature Changes

It is normal for a well-inflated spa to look less inflated at night when temperatures are colder. During the heat of the day, the air inside the spa expands, which may cause the spa to become over-inflated.

This is a normal result of temperature changes and does not necessarily mean that the spa has an air leak.

Please inflate or deflate some air as necessary to maintain the appropriate air pressure. The upper edge should still be able to be pressed in approximately 4–5 cm (1.57–1.97 inches) with the palm of your hand.

Do Not Over-Inflate

Air inside the spa expands in warm temperatures and direct sunlight. Over-inflation can cause deformation and excessive stretching of the PVC shell, which may damage the seams.

When temperatures reach 25°C (77°F) or above, RELXTIME recommends releasing a small amount of air and keeping the spa at approximately 90–95% of its maximum capacity.

What If the Spa Keeps Losing Air?

A certain amount of air loss is normal for an inflatable spa, particularly when temperatures drop.

First, check the tightness of the black/gray air valve screw connection.

If air continues to escape, spray soapy water onto the PVC body of the spa. If bubbles form in a specific area, this can help identify the location of an air leak.

The manual also notes that air loss can be related to:

  • The spa being moved after inflation

  • An uneven or unstable surface

  • Over-inflation
