Getting started with SUPA Heater is straightforward when you follow the correct setup and safety steps. This guide covers assembly, positioning, gas and water connections, and essential maintenance after each use.
Step 1: Assemble Your SUPA Heater
Before getting started, assemble your SUPA Heater according to the manufacturer's instructions.
SUPA Heater Assembly Instructions
Watch the assembly video:
Make sure all components and connections are properly fitted before proceeding.
Step 2: Position the Heater
Place SUPA Heater upright on level ground beside your hot tub.
-
Choose a location sheltered from the wind.
-
Keep it away from doors, windows, and air vents.
-
Leave sufficient clearance around the unit for airflow and access to the controls.
Always follow the product manual's outdoor installation and clearance requirements.
Step 3: Connect the Propane Supply
Correct gas connections are essential for safe operation and reliable ignition.
-
Check the gas inlet washer. Make sure the supplied washer is inside the heater's gas connection before attaching it.
-
Tighten the connection. Use a spanner to tighten the connection securely, following the assembly instructions.
-
Attach the regulator. With the propane cylinder valve closed, fit the supplied regulator to the cylinder. The connection screws in anticlockwise. Tighten it securely as instructed.
-
Check for leaks. Open the cylinder valve slowly and check every gas joint with soapy water. Bubbles indicate a gas leak.
Important: Never ignite or operate the heater if you detect a gas leak. Close the cylinder valve if safe to do so and resolve the leak before proceeding. Follow the manufacturer's full gas connection and safety instructions.
Step 4: Connect the Water
Once the heater is assembled and the gas supply is connected, choose the water-heating method that suits your setup.
Option A: Heat the Water Already in Your Hot Tub
Use the recirculation setup to circulate the existing water through the heating system.
Follow the video and product manual to connect the hoses and pump correctly.
Option B: Fill Your Tub with Hot Water
If you plan to fill your tub with hot water, follow the appropriate filling instructions and the manufacturer's guidance for safe water temperatures.
Add the relevant hot-water filling video or instruction link here when available.
Step 5: After Every Use
Proper shutdown and maintenance help protect your equipment and prevent avoidable damage.
-
Drain the water: Empty the heater, hoses, and pump after every use. This is especially important in cold weather. Water left inside can freeze, damage the heat exchanger, and cause repairs that are not covered by the warranty.
-
Close the propane cylinder valve: Shut off the gas supply after use.
-
Let the unit cool: Allow the heater to cool before covering or moving it. The supplied instructions indicate this takes a couple of minutes.
-
Clean the filters: Check the pump filter and the filter at the end of the blue intake hose regularly. Dirty filters can restrict water flow, so clean them when necessary.
